Default LQ9 throttle plate only responds with engine not running

Trying to wrap up a 6.0 swap in my jeep and finally got it running. I't supposed to be from a 2004 escalade. OBD2 not wired up yet, nor are O2 sensors. The guy I bought the motor from demo'd it running and the throttle responded great. I am definitely using the same gas pedal and module he demo'd. Now when I start the engine, it will only idle. When I gas it, I get no change. But when I shut it off, the throttle plate responds to the gas pedal like it should. I did have to cut and weld on the pedal linkage some. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

OK it's solved. Turned out to be a big vacuum leak.
