Default LS3 with 6R80 Transmission (Ford)

Does anyone know if the 6R80 transmission (F150) will connect directly to an LS3 engine? If not, do you know where I can find an adaptor?

Thanks.

It will not. I’m not aware of anyone currently making such an adaptor, but I’m sure you could have one made. I have to ask, why not use a GM transmission?

I had a 2011 GMC Sierra and hated the transmission. From the time I picked it up from the lot it was jumpy, skippy. It drive me insane so I don't trust the GM 6L80. The Ford version 6R80 seems to have a good track record.

Getting a Ford tranny to talk to a GM computer would be impossible. Get yours reprogrammed correctly and you will be happy.
Your engine is a Gen IV, not Gen III. This is in the wrong forum.

I absolutely love the 6L80 in my 12’ Silverado. It’s my favorite part of the truck, other than the bow ties on the grille and tailgate.

You already asked this question. And no it won't work and it's a dumb idea anyways. Either use the junk ford motor or use a Chevy trans.

The 6l80e can shift/perform great. You just need to find someone who knows how to tune them. They are years beyond the old 4l60e trans.
