Is it still worth swapping on an LS6 intake in 2019?
I have a 1999 Camaro Z28 (in the UK!!), it's a rare T56 manual car (think there are only 15 or so in the country). The motor is 100% stock when I bought it fairly recently. I'm looking to mod it with LTs and a cam only setup. Plus some 4.10 gears. It's got a lid and an SLP LoudMouth already fitted, plus big brake kit and some suspension.
I swapped an LS6 intake onto my previous auto z28. But I'm just wondering if this is still worth doing in 2019 or if there are better alternatives. I know there are better intakes, but I'm not wanting to drop £1000/$1000 on a FAST or similar. So I'm looking more at a budget upgrade.
In the UK we got the Vauxhall (aka Holden) Monaro, sold as the Pontiac GTO in the USA. So I can probably pick up an LS6 intake or an LS2 intake used if I look hard enough. But wanted some steer on which of these would be a better bet or if there is a nice budget aftermarket intake I could look at for sensible money.

Thanks.
Just curious, but are things like this worth a look? It looks shiny in the pics, but no idea if it's any good or not. Would they fit under the scuttle on a 4th Gen Fbody?

At around $350, the LS6 intake is still a good upgrade over the pre-2001 LS1 intake. It is a good budget upgrade.
Don't be fooled, ebay offer above is garbage. Meaning, it may look similar to more expensive actual high performance intakes, but it will not perform like one. Junk price means junk product.
Indeed, try what Chris25 mentions above. Search around for a good used Fast intake while you're at it. You might get lucky and find one for not much more than an LS6. Go the Fast route if you can swing an exact couple hundred bucks or so and end up finding one.

And if a used LS6 manifold or nice-priced FAST isn't in the cards, Dorman ( a well-known replacement parts mfr. here in the states) makes a very good replica of the LS6 for a fairly reasonable price.

Good budget option. Dorman LS2 intake uses the 90mm throttle body and flows slightly better than a factory LS6 intake, it also has some room to grow with porting. I've seen summit has the dorman Ls2 for $408 new. That's not a bad option if you can't find a good used Fast for around the $400 price range.
Btw, the Dorman LS6 intake does not flow as good as the factory LS6 intake. Its barely any better than a stock LS1 intake, if at all. Don't even considered it.

Depends on your acceleration goals op.
What are your acceleration goals?
A ls6 intake is decent. With a little messaging it's better. The biggest issue it the tb size and then there's the neck on the manifold that's actually smaller than the stock tb. You put a 80mm tb on it and open the manifold up tp 80mm(likely will require epoxy to get there) then you have a decent stealthy intake.
To be honest your plan and combo is starting out pretty terrible.

OP, after going the LS6 manifold route in the past, this is what I would do if you're on a budget. Try to hold off and find a used Fast setup if you have the time and patience. Fast 102 preferably, but certainly would not pass up a good Fast 90 or 92 deal. You could also get it ported later on if that's not in the cards at the present.

I would imagine there wouldn't be many cheap, second hand FAST floating around the UK. Also probably not worth shipping one from the US to UK but I may be wrong.
On a basic cam or Heads and cam combo , I wouldn't think it a bad move to use the LS6 over the LS1 intake, if one is readily available.

I got my LS6 intake from a guy in Australia. He had more than a few back then, and seemed to have a steady supply. I found him in the Classified section here. The price was good, too.
