Loud rattle/squeak when AC turned on
 

Hey all,

i have ave a super loud rattle/squeak that starts whenever I turn the AC on. It increases frequency with engine RPM so I’m sure it’s a pulley or belt (or I suppose it could be the actual AC compressor?, but the AC works fine). Any tips on how to identify the culprit? It’s a PITA to get back to those AC pulleys/belt :)

I would spray behind the ac compressor pulley while it's running with something like bg penetrating oil. Easy to get to.

Take the belt off and spin each pulley by hand. If you don’t hear anything obvious then the tensioner is likely worn out.
