Default Shorter o2 sensor for long tube headers


Can you get a shorter o2 exhaust sensor as mine hits trans pan with new long tube headers, current length is 2 1/2\" from mounting flat to where the wires exit sensor. Thanks in advance

Cut pipe loose, re-clock downward a few degrees, re-weld. No new parts....

Kinda odd to see sensors on inside of header. All I’ve ever seen are on outside toward rails or pinch welds. What headers are these?

Did'nt really want sensor hanging further down as car has been lowered and also looks untidy ( my welding isn't the best), The wires are also sort so may not reach plug, for now I have sectioned the corner of the oil pan so it fits, There is also room to grind the port back as it is thick with a bit of thread left to use, Just means sensor will be deeper into the exhaust flow.

Headers are ProFlow made in Australia , to Fit a General Motors- Holden ( GM-H ) 1974 HQ Holden also made in Australia. I live in New Zealand. Chev parts here are expensive, Junk yard LS1 is $3000.

I've used these in the past when clearance was an issue. The only thing is you need to mod them.

You have to drill them out a lot bigger so your primary O2 works properly.

I wouldn't use that for a sensor that I actually wanted to read correctly. That's basically the same thing as an spark plug anti fouler people use to keep the 420/430 codes from coming on. The reason the codes don't come on is because the 02 sensor isn't really seeing the exhaust gasses.

the fix is actually really easy. buy a couple 02 bungs and put them where you want them.
