Denso O2's

Just ordered a set last week and installed them last night. I like them alot, car runs real well. This is my 4th set of O2's, car ran true A/C delco's the first 3 rounds. These denso's are OEM fit and come with anti-seize. Plus only $120 delivered to my door.

Good to hear this, I have a set of Denso O2's on the shelf waiting to go on. Aftermarket O2 sensors give me the willies...troubles w/ some of them not getting along with the PCM, cycle frequency incompatibility.

I've been running them for about 6 weeks. Car runs better and I have not had any issues.

I'll be ataping tonight and keeping an eye on them, but initially they are just fine.

That's great, thanks for sharing. I'll swap mine in after I get done thrashing it at Pocono, gives me time for street mileage and monitoring before I got back to the track.

Just out of curiosity, how did you run through 4 sets of 02 sensors?

I've got 113K miles, and figure I'm due to change my factory installed ones soon.

Long tube headers, real rich tune for 1 whole year ( po-boy, couldn't get tune at the time ) and a small oil leak at the pan that leaked along right to the O2 sensor connection.

Now I'm tuned, new wires and plugs last week as well, and now new O2's. Feels great , I don't run race gas so I'm hoping these last a while. On my LT1 96 Formula I never replaced the O2's, but then again it was 100% stock when I sold it at 78K.

Ahh, gotcha. That would do it about as quick as running leaded fuel.

LT's have issues with O2 sensors, especially if they are coated or treated. I'm having the same issue. Luckilly I can get 2 AC Delco O2's for less than $70 from the shop I get my car worked on. I think eventually the LT's will come with the O2 bung pushed up and with the O2 going deeper into the tube so they can get hotter.

The problem with that is the reading should be taken after the exhaust gasses have merged...which on the stock manifold is closer to the engine and hotter. On a LT that location will always be pushed further away or it wouldn't be a LT.

Where did you order them from?

Steve Burger Jul 15, 2004 08:26 AM

www.sparkplugs.com

Did you order the universal sensors (234-4000) or the model specific sensors (234-4025 and 234-4087)? Thanks,

Glen

Viper Jul 19, 2004 01:26 PM

Model specific. They matched perfectly ( length ) the existing stock ones.

Thanks for the info

What exact # did you order? All say "Front" "right" . Did you buy 2 4087's?

Also, I have read a few posts on these. Will they actually handle "leaded" gas - say 116 octane?

Thanks

David
