Y pipe

So I ordered kooks headers with 13/4 primaries and I was about to order a y pipe when I noticed that pacesetter has a y pipe for their 13/4 primary headers and another for their 17/8 primary headers both with 3 in collectors.so my question is do you really have to use a different y pipe based on that?

Probably the same reason you can't smell the number purple.

Just taking a guess here, but having bigger tubes on the primaries may cause a bit different angle on the pipes, causing the collectors to sit slightly different than the 1 3/4. Just a guess though.

Good guess,I think that makes sense but I believe every other brand uses the same y pipe for both primary sizes

Call Kooks and ask them. Mixing brands of headers and y pipes is asking for a headache. Stick with the same brand for both.

For Kooks only use Kooks. Nothing else is going to fit. And yes, you'll want to use the Y-pipe designed for your primary width if Kooks has spec'd them out for each.
