US oil pans-NO OIL DIPSTICK ??????
I changed my Australian Oil Pan for a US rear mount pickup pan out of a truck.
After comparing the 2 side by side, I noticed the US truck sump doesn't have any provisions for an oil dipstick although it does have a oil level sensor with float on the inside end of it.
I take it the trucks use a sensor and digital display on dashboard for a level indication?
Are Camaro/Firebird/Corvettes the same or do they use a dipstick?
Also is there a plate or some plugs to block off the 2 untapped holes above the oil filter boss on the pan?

The F-body dip stick goes through the block into the pan. The trucks may be the same way. Yes, theres a cover that goes over those hole. Thats used for the vettes for a oil temp sensor I believe.

Can just make it out from the pic as I can't enlarge it, but I'll grab a pic of the plate off my Australian sump and see if its the same and just use that.
BTW Studded block, big HP plans I take it?
