flexplate won't go on
 

Hi all, first post here, I am trying to put my new flexplate on my LS1 - and it just will not go.... the instructions say to tap with rubber mallet, and I do, but each time you tap the one side, the other side pops back out... can't get it to go on evenly. And it also says in big bold letters not to pull it on with the bolts, but I see no other option. Any thoughts?

Very simple. I'm beginning to think you tried to install it on there backwards.

Thanks for the reply, definitely not backwards, its dished and only fits one way, and on top of that it says right on it "engine side"

both those videos I had seen, but the instructions that came with the flexplate specifically said 'DO NOT pull on with bolts' - so.... thats why I'm here.
