Lt's cause explosion!

(i was joking about the title)it was to get some answers.

hey i have a 2001 ws6 wit pacesetter lts and a catback on their, so when i turn off my car theris a ticking sound coming from my header area so plz tell me if this is normal or what? it goes lt's ---y pipe---cat--flowmaster. (so can yall tell me if that setup is causing not enough airflow and my pipes are staying to hott)<--is what i think but i dont know shit about cars.

normal heat expansion and retraction ticks most of the time. Common sounds.

Sounds like a typical exhaust leak? Turn on the car and feel around for air coming out of the header. It could be a bad AIR connection, weld, anything.

u said to feel around the header, do u mean at the engine and if so, my fan would be blowing right? or do u mean feel at the bottom wer the headers conenct to the y pipe

could be the check valves for the AIR system, just get block off plates for those from one of our sponsers at the right.

Im with him. The exhaust will "tick" when you shut the car off and the exhaust is hot.

if i buy those plates wont it make my car not pass inspection? i was just thinking that my cat was so far back and next to my muffler that maybe my car isnt letting enough air out, nebody comment on this?

It's perfectly normal.

if its after you turn off your car , don't worry about it. Metals expand/contract with heating and cooling. Join the club of people that don't give a crap about normal ticking.
