Default Getting fireworks out exhaust after a hard run

I just got done watching some vids of me racing. I notice after the 1/4 mile when I'm slowing down I get little flashes of fire out both sides of my exhaust. Any ideas what would cause this? Is it normal...good...bad? I have no cats, true duals with an x pipe dumped at the axles. Thanks for any input. I used to hear a backfire in the same situation but I don't seem to hear it now like I did. These are all NA runs too.

My buddies 02 SS when he was cam only did this when he would shift hard in the upper rpms. He also had duals dumped at the axle. He would shoot flames out of both pipes. Looked pretty cool actually!

Never had it on a wideband. Just with atap it looked good but I know how that can be. I'm worried it could be oil in the cylinders....or maybe just unburnt fuel.

That was my guess... unburnt fuel. I wouldn't mind hearing a technical answer however becuase my friends z does that also.

Yup unburn fuel + no cat setup = fire out the exhaust.

It would have to be unburnt fuel, if it was that lean it prolly wouldn't be running still.
Get it on a wideband & dial it in.
