Question Not sure if this is right forum. But Cleaning MAF...

I've been getting SES lights caused by the MAF getting invalid readings. I need to clean the MAF the metering wires and such. What sort of spray can I use to clean it. I know it needs to be something that won't leave a residue.
So like electrical contact cleaner like tv tuner cleaner or what?

Use throttle bore cleaner, it works or brake cleaner.

How about alcohol, I used that (Isopropyl 91%) very carefully with a cotton swap on mine just the other day...is that ok too?
Seemed to work pretty good.

That'll work too, I've done that too carefully with a Q-tip.

I am going to have to try this also. If you use brake cleaner how do you get it off? I just oiled my K&N and I threw a P102? code today.

CRC, the company that makes Brake Kleen, also makes a electric parts cleaner spray. do not use brake clean on your maf. It leave a solvent residue. This will not leave a residue.

You may also find CRC "QD Contact Cleaner"
at Home Depot electrical section.

You want something that says "leaves no
residue". Some tuner cleaners include some
lubricant, which is what you're trying to get
rid of in the first place.
