I used ramps and the back and then went to each side and put the jack stands right under the sub frames then went to the front and jacked that up all the way and extended both jack stands. Lowered the jack and then put the 4*4 on the plate and jacked up once again for the added height. Headers went right in

Back the car up onto ramps. Then begin jacking up the car from the side under the frame. If you have subframe connectors, just place the jack under those and lift the car. Place jackstands (at their lowest height) directly underneath the subframe connectors as close to the front of the car as safely possible. Lower the car on top of the jackstands making sure the subframe connectors are firmly supported by the jackstands and are in the appropriate position. Move to the front of the car and slide the jack underneath the k-member and jack up the front of the car from there. The k member is a thick piece of metal between the front wheels and their suspension components. You can't miss it. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get under the car. I used a couple pieces of wood between the jack and the k-member to get the car high enough to slide the driver side header in. When the car is at the appropriate height, raise the jackstands to the new height. Lower the front of the car on top of the jackstands. After that, I put a little bit of pressure on the kmember with the jack for additional safety.

If you don't have subframe connectors, then I don't know where you should put the jackstands. My jackstands won't clear the rocker panels if I put them where the car manual suggests.

thanks, anyone know where i should place the jackstands if i dont have SFC's? i know that putting them farther back=more clearance for the front, but less safety it would seem like.

Off topic, but if you don't have SFCs I would highly recommend them. Especially if you're a t-top or vert car. Really stiffens up the ride, not to mention makes lifting the car a whole lot easier.

I took two cinder blocks for each side and turned them on their sides, then put a piece of 1 1/2'' thick wood on top of that. Then I got the tires on top. It worked great. I also have jackstands underneath the rear axle for extra safety. And the front wheels I just put on ramps about 1' high.
