I used jack stands, it really wasn't that bad.

Here is a pic right after I slide the passenger side in.

When you use jackstands, it helps to have a floor jack that will go high enough as well. If you use the dinky emergency jack, you're going to have to put some sort of blocks beneath it in order to get enough height.

I also used a set of jack stands at the fron of the car, and rhino ramps for the rear tires. Use a piece of 2x4 on the K-member, and position the jackstands as far apart right under the 2x4. That should give you enough clearance to slide the headers in from underneath.

Jack stands front and rear. I was worried that it wouldn't be high enough, but had plenty of clearance to put in the Stainless Works headers.

personally i dont feel comfortable with the jackstands set that high, lift was the way to go for me, being able to move the car up and down made it a breeze. Sometimes i needed to crawl under the hood to position the header, then get back underneath to wiggle it around, i dont see how i could've done that with the jack stands easily.

I used 4 cinder blocks, 1 under each tire. This was more than enough room to slide hookers in and get access through the hood.

$3.00 at Lowes.

ummm... I used to cinder blocks and two HIGH jackstands for the front and 2 smaller jackstands for the back. was MORE than enough room... Probably could have did it with the 4 jackstands only... took me about 4 hrs for the headers to remove the old **** and put the new stuff in... maybe 4 hrs... Easy stuff...

I wasn't to thrilled with having my car that high in the air either but it was either that or it wasn't going in plus it was at that height for only about 3-5 minutes. Just enough time to slide in the passenger side header, the rest of the install it was probably 6 inches lower.

I used jackstands and Im pretty sure they were standard size on the highest setting. Slide them under the car horizontally then turn them vertical when theyre underneath the car. The drive side header was a pretty big PITA for me, but it slid in eventually. Just keep workin on it and dont give up.

Cinder blocks!!!! eee-Gads

Laying on their sides, they have very low loading capacity. This is not a smart move.

I bought a set of truck/SUV jack stands as I too don't like extending the stands all the way up.

Why not just use 4 ramps. Guess your life means nothing
