Default How did this guy mount his coil packs like this??

Did he make a custom bracket that attaches to the fuel rail? Where did he get the longer wires? I kinda want to do this.

thanks

That looks NICE! You can buy wires that you cut to whatever length you want.

Notice he has a Weiand Intake Manifold. I bet he drilled and tapped some holes in his aluminum manifold to hold the coil brackets.

Yes it is sold as a kit. There are mounting bosses on the top sides of the valve covers that you cant see in the picture. The coil brackets mount to the valvecovers...

Those brackets pictured are not the Katech ones that attach to the valve cover, they were fabricated by the owner and they attach to the fuel rails. You can purchase several types similar to the above, most will mount to the studs used for the fuel rail.

BTW those are NOT the Katech valve covers, they are the GM racing c5r covers, notice the fittings in the front normally used for dry sump oiling, lack of oil fill provision, etc.

Doesnt look too much better than stock does, IMO. Just get some FRC's and be done with it.

nd mounted mine vertically where the AC accumulator and the ABS unit were from the factory (in front of the fender well) and then used MSD cut to length wires (got the LS1 ends direct from MSD as they do not have a part number to sell them by).

those all look nice but I would think they still add time to getting the valve covers off.......I moved mine up front to make valve adjustment/checkups easy and to keep them running cool

nope

There is someone else on here that did it the same way (where I got the idea from) but I can't seem to find the pic he posted (it has been a long time). The basic idea is all coil pack "relocation kits" stack 4 coils together on bolts/threaded rod. I did this but then went a set further and mounted them standing up in on the frame rail so they are out in cool air and out of the way of valve cover removal/plug change/etc.

I don't know any of the technical stuff, but that's got to be one of the prettiest engine bay's I've ever seen in my life. *Tips hat to the builder.*

Are you serious?? That looks 100 times better than some big plastic covers IMO. I never have liked the look of FRC's. It's like vinyl siding on a house, just covering up what's underneath. You could have a litter of dead kittens under your FRC's and would never know it.
