Default Need Advice Please Help Me!!! (long)

2002 WS6 with GMMG

Five months ago I ordered a Grotty style header system that also contained a Y-pipe and two Random Technoloy CATS. The system arrived 2 months later.

Problems:
1.) Y-pipe was five inches off, had to wench header collectors together to make it fit
2.) 1 of 3 clamps were to small, would not fit
3.) the two clamps that did fit wouldn't seal, the bolts broke first, very thick gauge y-pipe
4.) took forever to reach the company I bought the system from

I finally got a hold of the company that I bought the system from, and one month later I received a new Y-pipe and three new clamps.

Problems:
1.) the new Y-pipe fit the headers this time but is riding up against the factory torque arm, system will not align correctly
2.) 2 of 3 clamps were to small, would not seal, used the two clamps that did fit from the first shipment, still not sealing
3.) after numerous e-mails and message left at the company, there has been no contact for over two months

To fix the Y-pipe problem, I then orderd an aftermarket torque arm that mounts where the factory tunnel brace used to be. I got the torque arm one week later.

Problems:
1.) Y-pipe is in the way and will not let the torqua arm mount to the tunnel brace brackets

Now, I'm in the market for a new header/y-pipe system. I absolutly do not want to go through these problems again. I have to admit; it's hard to trust anyone when the say "Yes, it will fit." I'm looking at the Dynatech Supermaxx system. I would like feedback please.

Thanks

QTP makes a great system. I have seen Supermaxx for sale, but very few people have used them on this board, they have the price of a top notch system like QTP, Kooks.

Do you want expensive headers and Y-pipe again? Coated Pacesetters go for 380 bucks now adays and Texas Speed sells a catted y-pipe for the pacesetters. They are a sponser here, so the y-pipe will be top notch!

here is their site:

Look at this thread, too.

At this point money is not a concern. My car has been parked for 5 months now waiting to get the problems resolved from the company I bought the system from. I paid over 1500 for it, and I expect the d*mn thing to fit. He won't answer his phone or return e-mails. I'm pretty much stuck unless I buy something else. I just want someting that works. I live over seas so it's kind-of hard resolving problems in person. Believe me, if I lived in the states right now I would have shown up on his door step by now.

Well, where is the person you bought it from. Maybe someone on this board can help out a bit. You shouldn't have to deal with a false advertisment. There are laws against that. The Grotts headers are great btw, you could easily sell them if we can't resolve this.

Sounds like you're asking what are the best headers and y pipe to buy?

I think the consensus here is QTP, Kooks, PPC, FLP, StainlessWorks.

All have excellent customer support (that I have heard anyway) several are sponsors and I know personally that QTP, PPC, and Stainless Works are very responsive.
