Anyone have this combination?

JBA Cat4ward shorties > into 2 1/2" Mufflex Offroad straight pipes > into a 2 1/2" Random Technology Y-pipe > into a 3" Borla adjustable catback with a Q-tech cutout. If it gets too raspy, I can close the cutout and push the exhaust through the Borla muffler .... any comments or does anyone have a similar setup?

My comment...Real long tubes would be a hell of lot better.

Goals ...

I don't want LT's. LT's would be nice, however, even though I'm in Florida right now, I want to stay 50-state legal. The Mufflex offroad pipe sections (when modified) will allow me to change out the cats before going to the dragstrip.

Anyone ever had my similar issue with Mufflex or other brand bypass pipes ... with shorties?

how legal is legal? Once you touch the factory cats (without cause), you are in technical violation of the law.

FLP makes a system with interchangable cats. They are not in the stock location, but cars pass the roller test with them all the time. You can do this with other brands too.

I don't think the JBAs add much over the newer stock manifolds (I've forgotten which year got the update, it may have been the 2000 model but certainly the 2001). You could pick those up from someone dirt cheap and not spend the cash for the JBAs.

can always take some time to try and port the primaries as well.

i'm still votin for LT's. Get a catted y-pipe and you'll pass a sniffer, especially with your cam.

I think jet hot makes a removable cat system also. But once you take them off they will never go back on :)
