Pacesetter longtube headers w/catted y-pipe
Texas Speed and Performance is going to have a sale on Pacesetter coated longtube headers + CATTED y-pipe for $700 + shipping. Maybe if we could get a lot of people together to order, we could get free shipping as well. This deal is perfect for GMMG exhaust owners! I'm ready to hear my GMMG with longtubes!

I TOO BELIEVE THAT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.I DON'T THINK THAT IT WOULD COST THAT MUCH MORE TO BEND STAINLESS INSTEAD OF MILD STEEL. OF COURSE THE QUALITY HAND BUILT COMPANIES LIKE KOOKS NEED THAT PRICE TO JUSTIFY THE EFFORT. I KNOW THAT IF A MASS-PRODUCING COMPANY WOULD CUT 5% OF THEIR PROFIT AND OFFER STAINLESS INSTEAD AT SIMILAR COST OF MILD STEEL, THEY WOULD HAVE THE MARKET LOCKED DOWN!

I agree that Kooks & QTP both make great headers though

I gained 15hp and 15tq from getting a tune after my macs and catted ypipe install. Was definitely worth getting the tune for me. Though I was told I wouldn't need the tune from just a header and catback install. Shrugs guess everyone's situation is different.

While a tune would optimize the gains from headers, I would wait to do heads/cam before getting a dyno-tune.
I would consider one if the shop offered a lifetime dyno-tune for a one time charge

a) Have MUCH better welds all over
b) Much better flange than previous with a flush mounting surface
c) Much better coating
I have been highly impressed with the Pacesetters that I have seen in the last 4 or 5 months! I think the quality is much better than hooker...

I have install a few sets of LS1 headers. For the money the pace setters are great. The coating on them will far out last the coating on hooker headers.
I have had pace setters in my car for over a year. The coating is not peeling off. They are not as bright as they were when they went in but they are holding up well.
I cannot say as much for the hookers I installed a week later on a friend's car. They Peeled and rusted at the collector in a month.

how do you guys keep the short section of the Y pipe from ripping off when you scrape? these y pipes suck indeed. im sorely disappointed in my purchase. i can only call them pace-suckahs. The time and $$ i've spent (and my personal time loss) probably has made buying kooks cheaper than these in the end.
and neither company that sells the items or builds them really stands behind them. The best they could say was "oh well maybe the next set of people will get better ones!"
know that support and warranty is ALOT of the purchase.

I have the 1st batch of Pacesetters. I helped installed a second batch on my friends Formula. While the 2nd does fit better with the Kmember, there's no doubt that the 1st batch makes just as much power. My car saw impressive gains at the track w/o tuning even in much warmer, humid air.
NED (best 12.97et @ 110.2mph)(2.0 60ft) 40 deg, low humidity(manifolds)
Gulfport (12.82et @ 111.5mph)(2.0 60ft) 75 deg, high humidity(headers)
My only concern would be with the coating, not the hp gains. My friend in Maine installed his this summer so we'll see how they survive the "wintah".
