Kook's SS Vs. Kook's
 

I was wondering if there is any advantage or disadvantage to geting the SS. Is one lighter than the other. I personaly would like black headers. But if the only advantage of having the Stainless Steel are for the looks/no rust ill probly go with the regualars. Just want some feedback.

I'd go with the stainless steel because they won't rust and they hold the heat in very well. You won't have to worry about replacing them again either and save money in the long term.

I personally would ONLY get the stainless versions, are the non stainless versions even black, I thought they were just bare steel? I know coating is an option as well.

Also look at the QTPs (on special this month), they only come in 304 stainless and are usually a little less costly.

Oh, and you can polish them if you want. Coating flakes off, why not do it right the first time?
Oh, one more-coating is about the same price as adding SS, except SS lasts, um, longer

:werd: if you were going non-stainless just get pacesetters...i wouldn't spend the extra money for kooks when you aren't getting stainless

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but aren't kooks only offered in stainless? From what I know, the only part of their system that isn't stainless is the y pipe, which I believe is aluminum.

Unless they've changed it recently they were in fact available in mild steel, coated mild steel and stainless steel (the most common ordered I think).

QTPs are available in 304 stainless steel only though (the ONLY way to go IMO :)), that I know.

Hes right. I got a quote from one of the sponsers on the Kooks, they said $550. I was like alright!! Then they said, Oh sorry, thats just for steel, stainless was a I think $250 option. Check the Kooks website, it says it all on there. Its easiest to do a search for your car, then all the info pops up.
