for my 2001 ss

Slp long tubes
new cats
new y pipe and
cross brace for my convertible

What should I put on for a muffler ?

Bad clearence, more expensive and only 409 SS compared to 304SS Kooks. Read the exhaust reviews and check out ls1sounds.com for your sound preference.

regardless i think he's reached a point of no return so that doesnt help him much now does it?

I have a hooker catback, and i wish it had a bit deeper soudn to it as my first car was a 95 gt mustang with 40 series flowmasters.

since you have cats, if funds allow it i'd get a gmmg catback. if you are low on funds but still want something that is gonna last and look great, magnaflow makes a great stainless steal catback for a great price as well. As always borla makes a pretty sick peice too for around 150-200 more than the magnaflow.

Hit up ls1sounds.com. and if there are any other f-body owners near wyou with aftermarket peices listen to those in person. thats the best way to make a decision as ls1sounds.com is a great site to check that stuff out however hearing the sounds over the internet sometimes doesn't do the particular system you are listening to justice.

Because they make as good of power as any other header.... Made out of some good ****... and the entire package can be had for 600 bucks now. I got mine for 550.. and sold the y pipe for 100 and went true duals.

The ONLY complaint I could have with mine would be ground clearance. I've had the heads off teh car once... the headers off the car twice... and the money to switch at times.. I've just chosen not too.

Oh yea... and I don't know if they have anything to do with sound.. but they have the potential to sound like this with the correct set up.

i have slp headers on my car and i love them, the only bad thing is ground clearance i can't lower my t/a. But i have slp headers and the slp y-pipe with spintech muffler it sounds really good, it comes to life when you put your foot down but is deep at idle, its not to loud but not raspy like some just my 02

Yes, the rest of us might love them too if going from BONE STOCK manifolds/cats to them but when compared to the more power made, easier installation, better ground clearance etc. etc. of other long tubes, some even cheaper, then all of this criticism might be more understood.

You've got the same set-up as me. I put the Hooker catback on mine. Fit well, screams when you get on it. Low rumble at idle, no rasp, and won't bother the neighbors. BTW, don't listen to all the SLP haters, you'll be happy with the set-up (after you are done with the installation ). Mine is 3+ years old now, and still looks new all the way around. Good Luck.
