Dynatech lt's?

Why dont I see more people running them. Them seem to be badass headers. My buddy has them and he makes great power.

red90cobra Apr 17, 2005 01:07 PM

aren't they kinda expensive?

WildBills Toyota Apr 17, 2005 01:22 PM

$519 on ther website coated 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8

red90cobra Apr 17, 2005 01:45 PM

I think the hooker lt are a little cheaper and that's whay most people run. I would give the dynatech a try.

Srun

WildBills Toyota Apr 17, 2005 04:29 PM

anyone else

BigBronco Apr 17, 2005 06:20 PM

dynatechs are not bad bill... just a header that not too many people purchased. For your car, are you planning on putting a cam in it?

Kook's, Hookers, Dynatech's seem to be what i would look into

I was looking into the supermaxx headers as well.....LS1LT1 was saying qtps design makes more power? this true bronco? I love the idea of a stainless Y pipe too.

OldeSkool Apr 17, 2005 07:19 PM

the cheap dynomax headers are mild steel coated, have slip fit collectors (i believe) and are totally different than the supermaxx headers. most supermaxx headers are stainless steel (although some are still available in coated mild for less $$) and the supermaxx are bolt in jobs (collectors already welded, o2 bungs in plade, emissions fittings, y pipe, etc.)

WildBills Toyota Apr 17, 2005 09:27 PM

im gonna go with the coated 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 headers with a custom y pipe made my icon autosports dumped through a borla xr1. will be a badass setup

OWENMUSTANG Apr 18, 2005 09:48 AM

i have the supermaxx. supposed to be a direct fit. headers yes, nothing else.
oh, they don't look like their ad pictures btw.
seem to give avg hp gains. no dyno, 20hp? by the butt-o-meter
by scale, i give them a 7 out of 10.
i'm not impressed.

The fit and finish of the SS Dynatech's are great. You'll see many people with FLP's which I believe Dynatech made for them. Apparently they are real close...but don't quote me on that. :) The y-pipe is especially good fitting and has great ground clearance.

I can't comment on power, because I don't have a before and after dyno comparo of the headers themselves.

i got ripped! mine fit like s***! don't even get me started on the 3 1/2 hrs it took to get the y tail into my cat back :bang:

Was your catback clamped on with a u-bolt style clamp? Those things crimp the pipe badly which then requires you to use a pipe stretcher to re-shape the tubing so that the new pipe will fit inside. My car has the Dual/Dual from the factory and used a band clamp. It was still a bitch to get off, but that's why I have an air hammer. ;)

I have the Supermaxx LTs... They seem decent. No problems with the install, and no ground clearance issues. They do rattle against the underside on the passenger side, but it seems like a lot of other headers do this too. They were a little pricier than other brands, and I'm not sure if the extra $$$ was worth it. But overall I'm happy with them.
