Awesome! Blew a hole in my FLP header - WTF!?!
I'm at a loss for words...
Drove to and from the store and on the way back, the car sounded funny...
Popped the hood, and:

WTF would cause that?!?!
Any fix? Like, patch weld it or something?

It was where the air tube use to go. I have heard of a few people that had that happen with different brands of headers. I guess it's a weak spot in some. I don't knwo what you can do to fix it. I would guess just weld a piece over the hole.

Interesting thing about that.. I've *NEVER* had the AIR system hooked up to it.. not like it was under ANY stress what so ever..
Good to know my $1200 was well invested in a quality product.

are FLP headers stainless? thought they were coated. if SS, i wouldn't think they used the same high quality 304? that kooks and QTP uses.

That happened to a buddy of my a couple years back on his LT1 shorty headers. But, his hole wasn't THAT BIG! He had it spot weld I believe and it's been fine since.

You should be able to patch that. And no FLP's aren't SS. Here a pic of what my old FLP's looked like when they were less than a year old. I had to send them back at my expense to have them re-coated.

If its like the others that have blown off their AIR tubes, what the problem was, that they were welding dissimiliar metals and did not get the penetration into the primary tube. If he can find the AIR tube, it probably still has a 'nice looking' bead around it base. Good looking welds are not always good welds.
