Default How hard to remove EGR and Air without doing anything else??

I notice most peps are removing the EGR and Air while changing intake, headers or other stuff. ANyone here remove theirs without doing any other project. I was wondering how hard is it to do.

thanks.

It's real simple. It took me about 10 minutes total. Go to LS1Camaro.net. All the info you'll need is there. Expect to trip the SES light unless you can tune it after. There is some debate over losing MPG after getting rid of the EGR, but mine went up after removing that and adding LT's. You won't gain anything just pulling it out for no reason. Best to wait for intake/LT install. You will shave a few pounds off though.

I used that link to ls1howto so I wouldn't miss anything. It didn't take any time at all. One of the very few things I've done that didn't have at least one major hangup.

Edit: It is a 1 3/8" freeze plug.

werd. thats an easy mod, i did it when i did my intake but it wouldn't be difficult otherwise. i actually did that BEFORE i started on the intake to clear us some room.

1 and 3/8" freeze plug ( i think, do a search to be sure)

i took off my AIR and EGR before i did any mods, i love to clean up my engine bay

oh and BTW , MTI deleted my EGR/AIR codes, as well as my rear O2 sensors for 75 bux, which is cheaper than the price of O2 simulators any local speed shop should do the same for less than the price of a full tune.

when you guys pulled the Air pump did you remove the charcoal cannister in the back of the intake manifold as well? I just pulled it and there is like a lil metal line that goes to 2 small 1"x2" sensors or something. Do those go too??????

The AIR system only consists of tubes going to each side of the headers and then a main tube snaking down the driver's side of the engine bay and down into the lower bumper area. I'm not quite sure what you're talking about.
