Header clearance with SLP sfc's.... Definitely getting a set of SLP sfc's. Possibly getting a set of LT's down the road. Do most headers still clear these sfc's or are there issues with some makes? Thanks. |
I'm not sure about other manufacturers, but my Kooks headers cleared my SLPs just fine. Pic below: http://www.image-hosting.net/images/...2/IMG_0977.JPG Passenger side won't be an issue...if you have problems with any header, it will be on the drivers side. |
What sort of y-pipe are you running? I definitely need a catted y.... Also, I may be mistaken, but I thought the SLP's tied together somewhere in the center, no? |
They don't touch each other, they bolt in where the black tunnel brace was(it is not in the pic). I have spectacle solutions boxed SFC's which are the same thing as the SLP ones. You have to remove the tunnel brace in order to put in LT's or the Y pipe will not work. I have FLP LT's and they fit great with the Boxed diamond SFC's. Wasn't as easy to get a simple fit when the Lt's were installed. I took it to a shop and had them tweak the catback and Y to clear everything and make sure there were no rubbing or banging isses and decided to remove all the clamps and weld all the pieces from the cats back. |
That ain't no y-pipe ;) 'Tis an off-road x-pipe. I have also run a Kooks catted-y with this setup, and I had to bend the tab on the driver's side cat to keep it from contacting the subframe...nothing that a torch couldn't take care of. And they tie in where it looks like everything ties in...the tunnel brace is gone in that pic because the stock one was a POS, and so was the BMR replacement. |
