Default '00-02 Exhaust Manifolds Better Than '98-99?

I've heard that the exhaust manifolds on the '00-02 f-bodys are better flowing than the '98-99 ones. Is this true and and should I consider swapping mine out for some?

why would you even think about doing that when you could go with LT's?

if you are on a tight budget and you know where to get some cheap it would be a decent modification, while you are at it gut the cats if you can, im sure that would give you some decent gains. but if you have the money id definatly buy headers.

it would be a waste if he got them free. he might get 1 or 2 hp from it? maybe? even if it was 5 its not worth it, and that would be the max i would think. get headers, thats a good 15-20 hp

Are these considered shorties? Are these direct bolt on with no cutting involved?
yea they are shorties, the black paint will come off and they will rust, go long tubes if u dont have smog.
