I would just hollow them out and put them back on. I got pulled over a few weeks ago and the cop asked why me car was so loud. he then looked under the car to see if I still had my cats. :) luckly he did not notice my cut out :)

Sims will make the ECU think the cats are in place and working properly. Without sims or tuning, you'll get codes for low circut rear 02s, cat inefficiency, etc. If you're going to remove cats, simulate. Or save your money and wait to get headers and an off-road Y-- I don't think you'll get much power by just removing/gutting cats.

i hate cats even pussycats lol. depends on how strict your emissions are over there, i would get the ory. Or get a 3 inch y pipe with high flowing cats if you can't get away with the ory. but factory exhaust sucks

broom stick, pry bar, screw driver, anything that will get in there and break up the catalyst will work.

Take one off and have a look in there. there's really not much to it.

good luck

rufretic 08-04-2005 03:24 PM

I used a screw driver and a hammer, worked great.
