Pacesetter LT's/ORY installed (pics) Finally got the Pacesetter LT's installed along with their ORY!!! Install went amazingly well. Passenger side slide right into place and the drivers side slid right in after we took the steering linkage off. No cutting or clearance issues at all. They fit perfect. Same for the ORY. No banging or clearance issues anywhere. Car sounds 10X better now and seems to pull harder in the mid/top end :drive: The only thing I'd add is that the paint burned off the primary's just about right away (I knew that would happen though). If I wasn't on such a tight budget coated would've been nice. Intake was off because I was replacing the knock sensors. Rear one was covered in oil! When I put the new one in I put teflon tape on the threads. Good news is that the engine knock I was experiencing at high RPM's is gone now. Sanded, primed and painted the valve covers while I was at too :) Install was done on stands in my dads garage. Plenty of room http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01756.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01737.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01742.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01753.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01754.jpg New stuff http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01751.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01750.jpg |
Getting it back together: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01757.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01759.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01761.jpg Job is done :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/DSC01762.jpg Next I have to get the FRC's sanded, filled and painted. |
Looks awesome! I will be installing the Pacesetter LTs and ORY soon myself... Hopefully my install will go just as easily... |
If you have the newer style you should be in good shape. Just make sure you have the steering linkage off....makes that side much easier. |
lookin good. cant wait untill i get my pacesetters and ypipe.but im being told to get mine catted because ill be using the loud mouth with it. but well see how things go. |
Bout time you post the pics over here. |
how much did you get the pace setter long tubes and ory for? i was looking into doing the same thing on my car, how long did it take you? thanks |
BYUNSPEED has a GP going on right now. PM him for pricing. |
didnt need to remove my steering linkage. pass. side was tough, had to get the car really high. |
www.geocities.com/foff667 i have an install writeup there, yes you definitly need to jack it up VERY high both front & rear really. |
Nice! I installed my pacesetters and ORY over the weekend. I did not have to remove the steering linkage, although I did have to get the front of the car very high also. I had one rusted nut/stud on the cat/manifold hookup that gave me pure d hell. Looks like I'll have to do some cutting on my catback to make it fit, so I'm dumping out the Y and creeping through town, LOL. Got mine through Byun Speed also, O2 sims from Thunder. Spread it around, LOL. |
Did mine in 4 hours counting 2 quick breaks, but that was using a hydraulic shop lift. The hard part is getting the old stuff off. I was able to leave passenger side spark plugs in and simply removed the coil packs for access to the bolts. Hint: Starting when you order the headers, spray WD-40 on all of the bolts as often as possible and you won't have any problems. Do it every night for a week, and the bolts slip right out with very little effort. |
