SLP LT's will I pass emissions here(CA) if I were to get SLP LT's because I HEARD that its legall here in cali. Let me know the facts. Thanks |
Even with cats', any LTs are not legal because they move the catalytic converters from their OEM locations. You may find someone who will look the other way, and if you pass the sniffer, give you the certification, but, the bottom line is they are all illegal. |
thats what i've heard. anything that moves the cats out of the OEM position is illegal. sucks for you guys out there. |
uh, you heard wrong. stay far away from the individual who told you that. |

first off seach...tons of threads. You can pass if they dont notice the relocation of the cats, you pay them off to overlook the visual, or you know someone in the buiness. |

Anything that moves the cats away from the OEM location is illegal... Technically Headers, ANY type, are supposed to be for offroad use only. Ask any GM Tech. I also don't want to hear anyone bashing the SLP LT's, there is NOTHING wrong w/ them. A slight ground clearance loss, but mainly from the Y-pipe more than anything...... |
Try telling a state inspection station that. I didn' t pass the visual because of the throttle body by-pass. Passed the sniffer, but not the visual. You can also get a fine for paying them off. Nice... |
The Emisiions person, the one who tests can be find up to $5,000 and they loose there emissions liscense permintly, so unless ur best budds with one good luck payen em off. |
Wasn' t trying to sound like a smartass but, yeah, there are those people out there that will look the other way. I am crossing my fingers to find one in my area. California' s hippies suck...:( |
I had the SLP LTs on my old SS (pictured in avatar) one thing I will say is the quality was top notch. The ground clearance was a bit of a pain, but managable. That car was stolen and now I'm trying to decide which headers to get for the new SS? BTW, we don't have emissions testing here. |
