Engine mounts

The rubber in the engine mount brackets on my '98 LS1 seems to have shrunk. They fit pretty loose. The Camaro parts manual CD I have lists the part no. for both left and right brackets as 22174868. I want to order a new set from GM Parts Direct but they list them as 10269733 (left bracket) and 10269731 (right bracket). Can anyone clarify ??? I want to make sure I am ordering the right thing.

If you are going through the trouble of swapping out the motor mounts...I would highly recommend upgrading to poly mounts over the stock rubber.

I agree!I wouldnt go thru the trouble of putting stock mounts back in.You can get the poly mounts for around $40-$50 and will never have to worry about sag again.

Do you have to take the brackets apart to install poly mounts????

Yes...you have to drill out the rivets that hold the shell together.

i just did mine, they are no fun. There is no point in doing the job if you are just replacing them with stockers. The Stock mounts are about 70 bucks each, but you can get a prothane polyurathane set for about 40-50. Drilling out the rivets is easy and worth the money and time u save (never doing them again..... unless you go with solids one day and you have like 800 ponies... haha)
