Default Who's running shift lights?

People say they are a waste of money but when I'm gettin' it, I look at the road not my gauges. A shift light would let me know when I'm at redline and need to shift and I would still be paying attention to the road. People who are running them, were they easy to install? I was looking at an Autometer Pro-Light. Thanks for any input!

I thought mine was fairly easy to install. I set it up right were the center of my speedometer needle is. It works great and I am always looking at the road and not my tac.

I'm not very good at wiring and electrical stuff but I tackled this without any problem. It's pretty easy and I think it's money well spent.

I'm looking at getting the Raptor light and putting it behind the A/C vent. Can't miss that. With my less-than-perfect shifting, I'll set it to go off at 6500rpm, so I'm shifting by 67-68.

no..but its simple..just do a search on shift ligth and it'll come up with instructions...you just need a 12 volt power source that is only on when the car is on...any pink wir ein the car will do..then you need the tach single off the pcm and thena ground.

I'm very happy with my Harlan shift light (red), I mounted it behind the center A/C vents for the stealth look. The only way I would see it as useless on our cars is if you have an A4 as opposed to an M6, in which case why the hell would you be looking at a shift light when the tranny does the shifting?? So yeah, it's a pretty useful mod for us M6 guys.

Shift light is a total waste of money -on a Honda Civic DX. But, on our cars, (especially with 4.10 gears) and most any performance car, it is money well spent. As the mod list grows and the power comes on faster, the rev range goes by much quicker and the light is the only thing between you and the limiter. Shift light was my buddy at the track- told me when to shift! Have fun!

I have a harlan in the center vent [blue] and it is almost a safety item on the street,I wouldn't go back to a tach, which is slow as hell w/4,10's.

I'm running a Harlan and I'm very happy with it...as for instructions, most shift lights are universal with appropriately universal instructions...for an LS1 install, go here (look under install documents, transmission):

How could it be a waste of money?! For 80 bucks and 20 min. to install you csant beat it. I love my raptor shift light and it works great. Just make sure you put it on the 4cyl mod or you are goin to think it is brokin like me. Intill i decided to read the directions haha

Raptor (green) in the a/c vent!! I love not hitting the rev limiter!! Easy install, an hour or so depending where you place it. Like others have stated, if you've got a M6, you'll need one. Good luck!
