Long tube headers horror stories. . .????
I keep hearing these horror stories ( from local friends) about if you get long tube header there going to scrape the ground and come a loose and you going to have major problems blah blah.. Those of you that have them do you have any problem with yours? And are any of you from Michigan or any place were it get as cold as Detroit. . . We have some bad roads and I want to know how that effected your long tubes… and how is the ground clearance
I'm looking to get some headers and I don’t see why I should go with mid lengths over long tube if the reason I'm upgrading them is to gain horsepower and the long tube give you maximum RWHP. . .

I've got the SLP LT's w/ random tech cats and not that I've had any problems with them, but when I go over speed bumps or steep inclined drives the cats will rub on the concrete. But not the LT's. It does seem however that most other LT's sit higher up (kooks, LG's, QTP's). If I did it again I would probably go with one of the others I just mentioned from dyno results I've seen (small, but every pony counts) and the bigger gap between the road and the LT's.
Better to be safe than sorry, cause the header manufacturer sure isn't going to help you out on the repair costs

I don't have the cats anymore either. Previous owner didn't want the smell or the possibilty of rasp. I didn't really notice much of a difference in either.

I have Kooks on my car, and I actually think they tuck up under there better than my factory Y. Before I got my headers on, if you stood on the side of my car from 10-15 feet away, you could see the Y. Now when you do the same with my longutubes an ORY, you can hardly see it. I think as long as you stay away from SLP, you will be fine. Good luck with your decision.

My QTPs haven' t hit, but I am VERY careful coming into driveways. I think if you take your time, and are careful, and don' t carry a lot of weight in the car, you will be okay.

Do Not get SLP. Previous owner installed SLP LT and they scrape like a ****! Also here in Greece the roads suck pretty bad too so they scrape while driving! I have Jet Hots on my other car thats in storage and only when it was dropped w/ the prokit flying down the freeway faster then normal it scraped but that to my knowledge was once. Im going to keep this SLP crap until I get to the states then I am going to throw the Jet Hots on this car and get a set of QTP or Kooks for my other car.
