Default anyone ever tried a truck intake manifold???

Hi all,

I was looking around and wondered, have any of you ever tried a truck intake manifold off the 5.3 or the 6.0?? Looks like the longer runner would be good for torque creation, but wondered if its worth it or not.

I have a LS1 intake on the car now, and was going to get either a LS6 or the new BBK one. What does anyone know about the Truck ones, or the BBK for that matter

THanks
ed

Besides the fact that the truck manifold is about the ugliest manifold in the world ......I don't think it fits under a stock hood either. I don't like the idea of a heavy, heatsoak intake like the BBK, so I'd say go for the LS6. There are some who disagree with me though. Check out a few of the previous threads on this.

Actually it doesn't matter if it fits under the hood or not cause it doesn't fit under the windshield part that hangs over the back third of the motor. you could make it fit with some serious butchering though.

It flows better than the LS1/2/6 ... but only on lower RPMs. The 5.3L and 6.0L intake was desinged to assist with low end torque, but will hinder top end pull. It maximizes out at 5500-6000 rpms, not worth it for a street car. Unless you have an under square super stroker.
