Hendricks Machining Ported Throttle Body

I finally got around to porting my throttle body this week. I think it turned out well. I thought about epoxying the holes, but I didn't find what I was looking for to do it with, so I left it be. Took the pic with my cell phone, so it's not that fancy.

looks good :thumb:

That's really good. The best thing is that you did the half-shaft mod. It'll really increase part throttle airflow. Now the air wont have to jump the "speed bump" going past the throttle blade.
Nice job. :thumb:
I wish I knew what Shaner uses to fill the holes. My S-3 came polished inside and the holes were filled, he also used brass tubes set into the epoxy. Shaner has the best stock modified tb's in my book. :judge:

how do you do the half-shaft mod, i've always wondered about that when i see ported TBs without that part of the shaft.....just never thought to ask until now.....

You just mark the shaft at the edge on the inside of the throttle body, then remove it and cut it where it will be barely recessed inside the body of the tb. I used my dremel tool with a cutoff wheel, it was very easy.

Just use a hammer to knock it out. Hit it on the side where the TPS goes (TPS removed of course lol). A washer will come out so dont lose it, its a pain in the a@@ to put the washer back on to but its possible. After you get the shaft out its much easier to work with too.

Actually it is VERY easy to get this washer back on. Just take the 10mm deep well socket that you used to remove the TB from the intake and put it over the shaft and tap the washer back into place. Takes seconds...litterally :)

that looks bad ass man, very nice. home ported tb's are much cheaper and i like doing my own because you can do it how you want. very easy to do.

what are these mods you speak of half shaft and bump stop etc what do they do?Does this fix the problem when you hit a bump and they car acts funny ?
Also what is the benefit to porting the TB ? IS there a write up on how to do these mods ... porting the TB half shaft ET? Thank you !

Half shaft mod removes half of the shaft that holds the blade, and the bumpstop mod allows the TB to open a full 90 deg instead of about the 82ish that I was getting.

I replicated that into a webpage a while back with a few updates:
