TD's out the back...PICS!

I had a few people wanting to see some pics of my system, so I'm posting here so everyone can see. I posted some pics a few weeks ago, but these are a little better. Still not the greatest....I couldn't get the light to work for me so I could get a full rear shot with the tips. But this should be good enough to get the idea. Like I mentioned last time I posted pics, sound is amazing. Much better interior sound now that they run out the back. I was dumped before and it finally became too much to listen to. Now I can unbolt the flanges before the axle and run dumped at the track or just to be obnoxious. It was a great sound dumped, just too much for a daily driver. It is mandrel bent 2.5" to the mufflers, then crush bent out the back. I didn't feel any difference between dumped and out the back, so I'd say power didn't suffer much if at all.

The sound is similar to a Hooker catback at normal cruising and driving, but at WOT it screams unlike anything. Very deep crisp note. There are three modded cars that I have been able to compare my sound to.....just to give you all an idea.

1. 1998 SS, 6-speed, H/C, full valvetrain, Mac mids, ORY, bullet in the I-pipe and Hooker catback. Awesome sounding car, but not quite as loud as this.

2. 1998 TA, 6-speed, H/C, full valvetrain, FLP LT's, catted Y, Borla catback with no plates. Badass car......slightly louder than me.

3. 1999 Z28, 6-speed, Mac mids, catted Y, SLP Loudmouth. I am considerably louder than this one.

Overall, while it is pretty loud, it isn't bad at all inside the car. There is no drone, no rasp and the sound is very unique. I have heard my setup with bullets and I don't think it quite compares...which is why I went with the Sweet Thunders. Clearance is not an issue at all and I am extremely pleased with my results. Enjoy!

Looks good man. Nice and clean, decent ground clearance.

A lot better ground clearance than my TSP ORY, that's for damned sure. I thought about taking it to an exhaust shop and getting them to fix it(I installed it on my back in my uncle's garage), but I think I'm just going to deal until I can get some TDs. Nice setup, bro.

You fab up this system yourself? Ground clearance looks pretty good for staying under the axle.

No, I had a local exhaust shop do this. He has done a lot of LS1's so he knew exactly what I wanted. Very reasonable price too. I think it ended up being $350 minus the mufflers and H-pipe or a little less. It definitely wasn't anymore than that. The lowest point are the flanges on the headers. If the flanges weren't there, the lowest point would be the headers themselves, and these are Pacesetters, so you know they tuck nicely.

Looks good man. Thanks for posting that up, once I get mine done in the next few weeks I'll get some pics up as well.

Very nice! I still have the DD on mine to hide the loudness of the longtubes, cam, &ORY.

I've wanted true duals, hows the rasp when you put a load on the engine from a low rpm? Does it pop a lot on decel?

Looks badass man :)

No rasp at all. Sound is great when you put a load on it. I don't know what I like more, WOT or loading it at low RPM. The Hooker-like sound is evident in the low RPM's. WOT is in a league of it's own. Decel sounds badass as well, but it does pop a lot if you go WOT then let off quick. I don't know if a M6 car would be different or not in that respect. But at the track after finishing the 1/4, in third gear it winds down real nice. It is mellow and smooth all the way back to idle.

I took it out.......I thought it was just an extra rod in there  .

Actually, although it is not readily visible in the pics, I assure you it is there and functioning perfectly.

My bad...I was looking in the wrong spot. It looked like (at first glance) it should have been where the bottom of your rear shocks are mounted. Then, I realized I was losing it and looked slightly above there. I'm not feeling well... :bang:

I know man, I'm just messing around. I actually went back to the pics after I read that post to see if I could find it. All that's visible is a little smidge on the right all the way up.
