ASR Delete Question I'd like to delete the little do-hickey that's behind the battery that all the cables run to, in the name of weight reduction, and also just cleaning up under the hood. My car has cruise control and ASR, will getting a new throttle cable (PN 12565560 ) mess with my cruise control at all? I'd like to keep the cruise, yet ditch the ASR. FWIW, the ASR unit has been disconnected for a long while now. Saves me from having to press the button every time I get in the car. <-- Lazy and forgetful :jest: |

4 Attachment(s) Looking at the parts drawings it appears that the non-NW9 cars combine the cruise & accel cables at the TB and do not use the adjuster module. Here are the parts numbers for both options (barring any typos I made from the crappy PDF): K34 cruise control automatic electronic NW9 Traction Control 25140823 module crcont '98 25177447 module crcont '99-'02 10236749 Adjuster, accel cont & crcont servo cbl 12557351 Adjuster accel cont & crcont servo '98-'99 NW9 12563338 Adjuster accel cont & crcont servo '00-'02 NW9 12563827 '00-'02 cable crcont servo exc NW9 12554668 '98-'99 cablc crcont servo exc NW9 12563243 '98-'02 cable crcont servo NW9 12565559 cable accel cont '98-'99 exc NW9 12565560 cable accel cont '00-'02 exc NW9 12552267 cable accel cont '98-'99 NW9 12563651 cable accel cont '00-'02 NW9 Attached below are .gifs of the NW9, non-NW9 setups. |
Now that's an awesome answer if I've ever seen one. Thanks jimmyblue! |

who cares how old it is. Has anyone done a write up yet? I have a 99 z28 with ASR and cruise contol. what 2 cables do i need to get rid of ther ASR. I will know how to do it once i get my cables |
I'm pretty sure all you need is the throttle cable from a non-tcs car to get rid of it. I would like to see someone that did it make a write-up as well. |
