Flowtech LT's?

Hey guys, just wanting to see what you guys think about Flowtech LT's? I'm currently running Mac Mid's and was thinking of possibly getting a set of the Flowtech's but didn't know much about them?

Install with the largest BFH you can find LOL!!

I've heard that they're poor quality but I've also read from a couple people that they aren't that bad. Kind of a mixed review on them I guess. For about the same price I would highly suggest Pacesetters. :)

With 500+ post I would think you would have seen all thenegative press about the flowtechs.

Forget about them and get the Pacesetter coated headers.

Redneck Z Feb 8, 2006 12:33 AM

The pacesetters are almost as cheap and get rave reviews. The flowtechs are the worst LS1 header. They leak and have tiny flanges that warp. I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole!

Nittany_marine Feb 8, 2006 12:36 AM

I havent had any real problems with mine. Good for the price.

Lss1350 Feb 8, 2006 12:42 AM

Didn't like em at first, now they dont bother me. Easy install. Will I be switching them out for pacesetter coated LT's when I eventually do my heads, yes.

BLACKOUTZ28 Feb 8, 2006 08:16 AM

I have the Flow-Tech's and they work really good. They were also very easy to install....I have not had any problems with them.

I'm thinking of possibly trading my Mid's for a set but hadn't done any research on them so just wanting to get some opinions on them. Do you guys think I should trade my Mac's for a set? I've heard good about the Pacesetters which I'll probably get in the future but didn't know if it would be worth it to trade straight up for a set of Flowtechs?

Redneck Z Feb 9, 2006 02:46 AM

You play with fire, your gonna eventually get burned. Some LUCKY people haven't encountered an exhaust leak YET. But with the thin flange, it's most likely gonna happen at some point. Why risk it, when you can buy some of the best headers(pacesetters) for CHEAP? This makes no sense to me, but do what you want. BTW, I'd way rather put MAC's on my car than the flowtechs. In fact, if flowtechs and JBA shorties were the only headers made for the LS1, I'd stick with the shorties.

Most people put them in this order:
Kooks
QTP's
Pacesetters
Hooker
FLP
Flow Tech
Poop
Crap
Shit
SLP

What are your mods? I'd stay with the MACs and spend the money elsewhere unless you are heavily modded...

LOL!! I'd have a similar order, only mine would probably look like this:

QTP's (w/hvmc's)
Kooks
Pacesetters
Hooker
FLP
Poop
Crap
Shit
SLP
dung
Flowtech

 so true... SLP :jest:

FLP were the shit back in the day...are the pacesetters better headers or just a better buy?

The pacesetters are a higher quality header, AND a great buy! They earned a bad reputation because of their early production headers. The ones that are sold nowdays are a new design and MUCH better. They have thick flanges, nice welds and slip in easily. There's really no reason to pay more, unless you go for the high end QTP's and Kooks at twice the price. :eek2:

I have not had any issue with my flowechs yet. I have installed both flowtech and Pacesetter. Paceseters were much easier to install.
