I'll never know unless I ask...

Ok, I keep hearing about the LS6 intake, and how it either comes with or without EGR holes and such..

can anyone exlpain this to me? What's the difference? I have a 98 trans and if I wanted this intake, what would my choice be?

rgaynor85 Feb 17, 2006 12:28 PM

i belive u have egr so u would buy the intake with the egr provision if u want to retain the egr but u should just get rid of it and run no egr. 01-02's didnt come with egr from the factory the 98-00 did

Like rgaynor85 said,if you want to keep your emissions get the Slp ls6 intake. If ypu plan to get rid of your egr get a regular ls6.There is no difference between the 2 other than the Slp one is modified for the egr hook up.

Actually SLP sells both an EGR and Non EGR ls6 intake manifold. If I remember right the non EGR is $400 and the EGR is $500. They both come with everything you need (coolant crossover tube and 2 plugs) for the intake swap.

definatly opt for the non-egr setup....in the long run if you end up deleting you emmsions equipment you will have no need for it and then therefore be mad that you got the egr setup in the first place. As stated earlier you do have both egr and air on your car due to the fact that it is a 98. deleting the egr will also clean up your engine bay. definatly a plus in my eyes
