how loud are td's out the back?

y pipe and cutout or trueduals out the back?

im leaning towards the ypipe because it wont be loud all the time and i travel a lot, but ive never heard td's out the back, only dumped

how loud would they be(inside the car) out the back on the interstate at 75 w/ the windows up

Not bad at all. Depends on the muffler you use. I have extension pipes that I can bolt up to my duals to take it out the back and it quietens it down alot. Assuming the same muffler(s) is used it should be about the same as a y pipe and catback inside the car.

They are as loud as any old school true dual setup. This is real dependent on muffler and also if an aftermarket cam is installed. I run Magnaflow round body's and the sound level increased after the cam was installed. I think the sound and performance makes up for any compromises made.

I had to have pipes welded up to my dumped duals to pass inspection (damned things got cut off as soon as it passed, though) and it REALLY quieted things down. It was really quiet cruising and with light to mid acceleration. It DID sound like an old-ass Chevy truck with generic straightpipes, and I've yet to hear a single out-the-rear dual setup I like, but it's quiet, until you go WOT.

They are a lot quieter than dumps. I've had both. Like the other two posts said, it really depends on the muffler you use. I missed the dumped sound, so friday I had 3 bolt flanges put on the ends of my mufflers so i could go back to dumps whenever I wanted.

If you have a stock or mild cam, decent mufflers and the pipes exit out the back you should be able to live with duals, even on long interstate or highway trips.

Link in my sig to the pictures, videos, and review of my system. I went from dumps to out the back and love them. It's a little louder than a y-pipe setup, but it's only because i have the bullets.

they are really loud out the back as well.
