Fuel-line Quick Disconnect Tool Necessary?

I'm preparing for my FAST intake installation - one of the steps (obviously) is to disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail using the Quick-Connect Separator Tool.

Is this tool necessary to disconnect this fitting/attachment? If not, how did you remove it? Any tips?

If this tool is necessary, where can I rent/purchase it from? Anywhere online?

TIA!!

It's 3/8", I know that much. But if I recall correctly, I've been able to undo that type of coupler with needle nose plyers.

You don't have to disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail if you are going to be using your factory rails on the FAST intake. When me and some friends installed my FAST 90 this is what we did. Just pull the injectors out of the intake, and leave them in the fuel rails. Then lay some paper, etc. over your driver's side front wheel well and flip the rails over to lay on the paper, etc with the injectors sticking up. Just make sure that the rubber fuel line stays straight and doesn't get kinked up when you flip the rail. I'd take some rubber bands and secure pieces of paper towel over the ends of the injectors just to keep them clean while you're working on the car.

Edit: Like ShevrolayZ28 said, if you do remove the fuel line from the fuel rail then you won't need the quick disconnect tool. Just use a pair of needle nose to push in on the tabs, and then pull.

How's any of these three look? Would any of them fit our application?
