What's a good stock muffler replacement?

I'm puting on MAC headers in a couple weeks and running n ORP into a cutout... but want a nice quiet muffler to replace my stock WS6 one... I'll be giving the muffler to a friend who's helping with the install. I'm wanting something that's going to be quiet... and not much more than $100 if possible. Just need a muffler... not a whole cat-back. TIA

U could get a flowmaster.. there usualy cheap and can give u some increase in power as wheel. Just make sure it the quiet series.. all i no is that the 40 series is the loudest. Just as your local performance shop for the quiet one.

Edelbrock Rpm series, Summit has them for aroun 100 bucks . I have this set up on my car ( mac headers with ORP and Edelbrock catback.) It is quiet when at idle and just cruisen but touch the gas and it comes alive. I would not change it if someone gave me any other exhaust out there. JMO

Flowmaster will take away hp and give you a terrible drone.

Call Jegs and order Walker #17227

You won't be disappointed - quietest and best flowing period.

I like the Magnaflow stainless steel muffler. One of the best flowing mufflers out there, with great sound. Part #14267, I think.

I think I'll just get ahold of a dual/dual muffler. I test drove a firehawk when I bought my car and it had the greatest tone to it... not loud at all, ust quiet and muscular. I'm going to have a cutout to deafen small animals at will.... just need something quiet for highway and "near-cop" driving. A electric cutout is going to help in the stealth department...

I have FLPs with the dual/dual and a cutout. That muffler is such a sleeper... quiet as heck at idel, but boy at WOT above 3000, boy does it roar!!!

If you can't get hold of the SLP muffler, I'd look at a Dynomax UltraFlo stock replacement muffler. They have tremendous flow numbers (over double that of a comparable Flowmaster) with a nice mellow tone. Not sure what size the stock WS6 exhaust is (I know its the same as my SS was stock, but I'll be damned if I can remember ). I think part # 17227 is the correct size - that's a 3" in/dual 2.5" out. At any rate they run $99 at Jeg's.
