FLP Header install. Does this part go back in?

FLP Header install. Does this part go back in? I am installing my FLP LT's. I took a bracket down that went under the driveshaft and exhaust just behind the transmission. It was black and had 2 bolts on each side holding it down. It doesn't seem to fit over my FLP Y-Pipe. Am I supposed to leave it off or do I have an installation issue? I see no way to push the exhaust up any further. Please help!! Thank you.

Does this part go back in? my FLP y-pipe is resting on this thing, I wonder if it's causing some of my rubbing at idle, I just got the headers put on Tuesday so I've yet to try and fix the rubbing, there's no banging, just some rubbing at idle and I can see that's the driver's side pipe is clearly touching the floorboard so that just might be the only spot. I'll make sure to check them both though

Re: FLP Header install. Does this part go back in? if it doesnt fit go to Home Depot or something and buy the same size screws but long with washers and bolt it back on so it fits. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: FLP Header install. Does this part go back in? I threw that crossbrace in the lake about 4 years ago... You dont need it. With a modified exhaust, all it does it bang on the y-pipe.

Re: FLP Header install. Does this part go back in? thats your cross member. I just got my FLP's on last week and mine didnt fit either. No real need for it now. Now I can figure out how to get rid of the banging every time I stomp on the throttle I will be happy

Re: FLP Header install. Does this part go back in? I got it on. I just whooped on it with a hammer a little bit to make a wider bend. You guys that got it on with no modification I'm impressed. I could not get my pipe up any higher no matter what I did. Doesn't look like much adjustment is available on the FLP kit. It just goes in one way. I love it though, very easy install. Much better than any other set of headers I've ever done.

Re: FLP Header install. Does this part go back in? G-Load brace is what you're talking about... it's a factory driveshaft failsafe so to speak. GM doesn't put a complete driveshaft safety loop on but this would perform the function of the bottom part of the loop, helping to prevent a broken driveshaft from coming into contact with the ground.
You might want to get a complete driveshaft loop. LS1 Motorsports carries a nice metco unit that is really easy to install (does not require driveshaft removal for $99! Plus according to NHRA rules you need it to run 12's.
