Dyno Tuning a must after LT's ..... After recently having Kooks LT's with Kooks catted Y pipe and GMMG exhaust I went and had the car (2002 WS6) dyno tuned. I had previously had my car on this same dyno before all of the above bolt ons. With just a lid I pulled 312 hp 320 TQ. Not bad for basically stock. I knew the car was running rich and I was hoping to have the car pull something above my pre bolt on numbers. 1st pull = 294 hp 302 TQ WTF!!!!!! I actually lost hp due running rich (12.3) and not being in sync with the velocity gasses exit. After leaning the car out some and adjusting the timing along with several more runs and adjusting the computer I pulled 336 hp and 344 TQ I am very pleased with my results and I must caution, have your car tuned after these types of installs. You will not realize the full benefits of the bolt ons until you do` |
As much as I'd like to get a tune, I have no place to get one (disadvantage of living in a small town) |

Good numbers. I saw some squirrly issues with that when I got mine tuned right after my install too. But when all is said and done, they squeezed an additional 23 RWHP from my tune alone!!! I know that everyone bitches about Flowmaster, which I have, but it cant be that bad if I dynoed a few more horses than you with a flowmaster and you have a GMMG. Just wondering why everyone dogs the flows. I love the sound. |
I have about the same mods and my numbers are in the sig. 321hp 347tq after 350hp 372tp. A that was with the stock throttle body. |
how about if you have someone with hp tuners do a street tune? i heard street tunes are better, because they use a wideband 02 and go by 100rpm increments or something |
The Leaner = The Meaner ;) |
i just had mine tuned and got 345 and 356, im very happy. its really loud with the loudmouth.... mods are in sig. |
Long tubes is the first of the big-boy mods in which you actually stand to gain a considerable ammount by tuning, although its not necessary. |
Or you could be cheap and have a $100 scan tool to read the A/F and adjust it with a $150 Maf... |
