Default Broken oil pressure sender w/ intake swap

So who here broke their oil sender when they removed or installed their intake? Be honest! After doing a search last night after mine I found out it was pretty common. So, Yes-or-No?

I second that, plus if you actually do some reasearch first, you will see hundreds broke thiers, so this should be a heads up. No for me. TIP follow the hose from the brake booster to the manifold, it runs behind the sender, pick the hose up with your thumb on the sender, easy as up and over. I can not tell you how many times I have typed that. BEST NEWBIE TIP EVER!!

I had never heard of it breaking before, didn't worry about it at all, yanked and pulled on mine, and never brokededed it. I guess I'm just that damn good.

i helped my buddy with his intake swap before i did mine...i watched him break his sending unit twice. needless to say, we can swap intakes in like an hour, WITHOUT breaking the sending unit. it's nice to have a guinea pig.

Didn't break mine when I put the the fast 90 on the car. Just go slow and don't yank it out..

I have removed 5 intake manifolds and broke it once so i think thats a good record. Although ive also learned that if you remove the hose from the break booster that connects to the break booster and the back of the intake manifold it wont break because that hose runs behind the sensor and when you pull on the intake manifold that is what pulls the sensor forward and breaks the sensor.

how do you get that sucker off the back of the intake when its way back there? I couldnt even get the sucker off the intake when i pulled it out of the car so i just shipped the intake off for paint with the brake booster attached, lol

I didn't break mine and when I did that install, I was thinking that breaking it would be pretty impossible unless you were going king kong on the damn thing and ripping it out.

Previous owner broke mine when installing the ls6 intake. I replaced it and have taken the manifold off at least 5 times and never had a problem with breaking it.

It's the plastic part that sticks up that usually breaks off. The metal part with the threads and the hex section is left intact, so you can just unscrew it and replace with a new one.

I removed mine only once (for the head swap) and didn't have a problem. But I was extra careful after having read all the posts about breaking this thing.
