Better y-pipe for FLP's?

I was wondering what size/setup y-pipe I should use on my FLP's? I have the stock unit that came with the package. I was also wondering if I would pickup any power by going to a Borla XR1 muffler? 3" in 3" out. My mods are listed below. How is the noise level going to be compared to my current setup?

Thanks.

two common options.

1) Cut off the FLP collector (it goes from dual 2.5" pipes to a single 2.5" pipe then works out to a 3" openening for mating to the i-pipe. Many people replace this collector with a flowmaster dual 2.5" -> 3" collector.

2) Make a whole new Y-pipe with 3" tubing. Then have it come into a 3.5" or 4" collector for the i-pipe.

Picked up 3rwhp/4rwtq at peak by going from the stock 2.5 FLP y-pipe to a 3" with Flowmaster collector.

before and after, no other changes, same dyno
