installed Ls6 intake.. now my AC doesn't work. I just installed an intake manifold and have the scars to prove it.. I was driving around a bit to help the computer along.. well I turned on the AC to see if the car would die or not... We I could hear the usual sound of the AC kicking , but NO airflow at all came through the vents. I installed the intake.. and removed the AIR/EGR/Pump stuff. Did I remove something I should not have? forget to reconnect something? Im in the texas heat so I'm really in a bind right now. Thanks. |
Re: installed Ls6 intake.. now my AC doesn't work. I think you pinched a line. I remember hearing from someone that it happens quite frequently on those intalls if you not paying the most extreme attention when installing it. someone help me out here???..i forgot what its called.. |
Re: installed Ls6 intake.. now my AC doesn't work. Matt, you have a small hose that hooks to back of the manifold . You probably forgot to plug it back in or it was loose or check on pass side for small a/c vac line. I can almost gaurantee it is one of the two. Regards Trace |
Re: installed Ls6 intake.. now my AC doesn't work. If you dont hook up the tiny vacuum line on the back of the manifold (it commonly comes disconnected while isntalling the manifold) then your A/C will come out the defrost vents. |
Re: installed Ls6 intake.. now my AC doesn't work. thanks guys, noone on ls1.com responded to my thread. I'm gonna go check out the back of the manifold and I hope its just that disconnected vacuum line. |

The vent director thingy is controled via vacuum, so its not like anything else could really be wrong besides that hose (plus the fact that I've had mine disconnected accidently 3-4 times in the past 2 years). There is a tiny rubber 90 degree boot...one end goes to the manifold, one end goes to the little vacuum hose. Make sure both are connected as both can come loose. |
Re: installed Ls6 intake.. now my AC doesn't work. One more thing, you can accidently PINCH that line under the back of the manifold if you aren't careful. Feel back there and see if you did that. |
