Did Pacesetter lt's yesterday Everything went easier than expected, lots of help from reading all the posts on here. I got rid of the AIR and EGR. I was confused on the "frost plug" for the EGR until I read more this morning. The one I ended up getting was actually called an expansion plug, 1 3/8"-1 1/2" diameter. We put both headers in from the bottom, removed the #5 cylinder spark plug to get the driver side in. Only problem was getting the oil dipstick tube out, it didn't break, but I mangled the end pretty good and have a new one ordered. |

ORY with race style coated headers. About six hours with one person helping, including removing the emissions stuff. |

No, you dont have to drain the oil. I think it actually goes into the block right above the pan, around the front of the starter. There is a bolt in the head you take out, then just pull on it. Hopefully your comes out easier than mine, I ended up grabbing it with channel locks, and I still had to pull hard, and try twisting and rotating it. |
i took mine out also but for got to screw it back in so its sitting there loose but it wont go anywhere and you really cant even tell. unless u tug on it |
ok... anything else that has to be removed when installing these headers? |
