Tuned headers?? FLP's, SLP's and Hookers.

I was looking at pics of headers and was wondering what the differences were between them. Even though they are all long tube headers they are all different. The FLP's are very straight and have a short collector where the Hookers are all over the place and have a long collector. The hookers also claim to be tuned headers. I read a page a while ago explaining the differences but lost it. It was explaining how you should buy certain headers for your particular application and what you plan on using the car for. I know certain aspects effect low end torque and top end hp. Could someone find me that page again or refreshen my memory? Anbody had two or all three of these headers to compare them? Thanks- Mike W.

I think most people are choosing headers because of the price. I was sold on the hookers for the price and the name. But alot of people with money are going with the FLPs or the Grots (whatever their new name is?)

from slp :

SLP Performance Parts has just introduced the first tuned-length, long-tube,
stainless steel header for '98-01 LS1-powered Camaro and Firebird models. Designed to
achieve maximum horsepower and torque from the LS1, SLP claims documented results
showing gains of 41 hp and 58 lb-ft of torque, resulting in 1/2-second reduction in
quarter-mile elapsed times. A 3-inch diameter Y-pipe was specifically-designed for use
with these headers and is included with the purchase. SLP also has additional exhaust
components to complement the performance of the new headers, including high-flow
catalytic converters

I bought them for the finish and quality of parts
and fit. I think you will be hard to find a better
quality part/fit.
The kit have every thing I needed.. to do the
install.

The flp is more expensive.. some say has better
top end, but My time at redline is minimal.

I belive that hookers need coating and you will
have to construct a y-pipe..

here is a hooker install.
