Hooker LT's on a 2000 Camaro SS? Are there issues with the hooker headers on the 2000 model cars? Who all has these on a 2000, and were there any problems with the install? I'm just curious about some information I received. Thanks. |
Re: Hooker LT's on a 2000 Camaro SS? I have the Hooker LT's on my 2000 Formula. The only problem is the EGR and AIR tubes. You need the ones off of a 98-99 car for the EGR and AIR tubes to bolt up right. Other than that I didn't have any problems. |

Re: Hooker LT's on a 2000 Camaro SS? Myself and a buddy of mine installed hooker's on my 2000. The actual install only took 4 hours. Just make sure you have the car high enough off the ground if you are not using a lift. Like said above the EGR and Air tubes will not line up. I just blocked off my EGR and bent my air tubes into place. WORD OF CAUTION!!! the supplied header bolts from Hooker almost screwed up my heads. They all went in smooth except there is not enough thread on them. They are shorter than the stock ones and you only get about 2 or 3 bites on them. I suggest using your stock header bolts with the supplied lock washers. And try to use your stock gaskets. Other than that loose the steering arm and the oil diveter and you are set. Good luck |
Re: Hooker LT's on a 2000 Camaro SS? TTT for ya... I'm in the same boat. |
