Edelbrock LT's

Ok, are the Edelbrock Victor Drag headers to big for street applications? Isn't 1 7/8 more for a higher horesepower application?

Any info would be appreciated. I am awaiting shipping cost on some pacesetters, however, this question is still on my mind..

ChocoTaco369 Apr 30, 2006 11:35 AM

apparently not. apparently, they are better for any application and the whole "1 7/8 are too big" thing is just a myth. they are nice headers from the pictures i have seen.

bad6as Apr 30, 2006 03:06 PM

they are steped from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8

thechef Apr 30, 2006 06:26 PM

they fit nice and are a really well made set and they also dont hang low, the edelnrock y pipe is also really nice and has no cleareance issues

I have seen/heard good stuff about the Edelbrock long tubes.

melchoir Apr 30, 2006 07:24 PM

I put them on a week ago, I picked up 2 10ths in the 1/8th without any tuning. They fit well, and have great clearence.

i put mine on saturday along with poly mounts, no problems, and with my lm II sounds bad ass :drive:

i have and i love em. and like bad6as said, they are stepped from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8. they are NOT too big.
but as for the y-pipe, i dont know, i have duals

I just got back from a Jobber show and picked a set up. They are pretty nice I think the ceremic coated look alot better but the Ti tech is "supposed" to be as good for alot less. I bought the welded version for my 98. I've had Kooks and Pacesetters in the past and these headers welds and construction looked good. Looking forward to getting in the car :)

well, thanks much - the shop owner told me that they would be too big, and would leak with the merge collector...

BUT that was BEFORE he tried to tell me long tubes wouldn't fit under my car :P

93TAWicked1 May 1, 2006 07:40 PM

SERIOUSLY how do these people become shop owners?????????????????????????????????????

Ric May 1, 2006 07:48 PM

Good question. You'd think they'd open up a Jeg's catalog at least once in their lifetime.

Ghostintheshell May 1, 2006 07:53 PM

Yeah..

I haven't had much luck here....

93TAWicked1 May 1, 2006 07:55 PM

Just order a set of Edelbrocks and buy some tools and install them your self. Header installs are pretty easy on these cars especially if you have a friend help you buy holding the header up while you get the bolts in etc...

Plus that way you'll get more into working on the car to save you some money on the next mod!!!
