guys- i did my motor mounts today. my motor didn't even come close to aligning to the wholes when i dropped the motor. in order to cure this, we loosened up one motor mount and both pedestals that the motor mounts connect to in order to feed teh big 18mm bolt, and then tighten the motor mounts and pedestals. you may or may not need to do this, i did. i think you guys should edit the write-ups to compensate for this

my car is a 58k mile 2002 Z28 with barely any bolt ons and mostly highway mileage, so its by no means an extreme case.

with the air system removal, would it be possible to leave the system in there, but just make the pump not turn on? that would save alot of hassle, i just hate that annoying sound.

Default 1998 Camaro Secondary air injection system

Hello,
My OBD code scanner is displaying codes P0410 and P0418. Can you suggest how to repair this system and/or suggest a PCM technician in Los Angeles?
Thanks,
Jeff

" Blockoff plates for exhaust manifolds required unless using "race" headers. " as you stated at the top of your thread but everyone had told me i need them??? Thanks matt

That hose that runs from the air lid to the AIR pump is the air intake for the AIR pump, it never should have been blowing into the lid.
Will the SES light come on? I want to install my race headers already, but I was planning to leave my AIR system in until i get them tuned out.

Now i have a 98 ws6, so with my ORY i know that i can tune out the cat codes, and that monitor will be "not ready." Thats one. Will tuning the air, and the egr out both give me no codes, but give me the 2nd, and 3rd "not ready," and cause me to fail inspection?

I know it old but does tuning out the codes give not ready monitors?

Default o2 sensor interchange

Well I did alot of reading on people wanting to find cheaper o2 sensors and unsure on part numbers, hoping this helps out. It helped me.

Amazon.com o2 sensors for our cars

Click on more results, there are 3 pages listed. Just make sure its a 4-wire sensor. I believe most are the proper ones however.

my turn for a question (read everything 1st like a good newbie should). buddy of mine has the EFI Live programmer. im wanting to get rid of the EGR, AIR, and Rear O2 (i know a feller to help me with the inspection part here in MO). my question is can u tune out these codes without doing a full blow PCM Tune? since the most tuning ive ever done has been with superchips (on my 2000 Z-28) and hypertech(on 94 Z-28), im really not sure on what im doing in that area. my buddy mainly uses EFI LIve on duramaxs and downloading maps off the internet. any info would be a great help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that would mean the pump is on during deceleration - it should be off with an electric pump. With a belt driven pump the diverter valve routes air to the atmosphere on decel.

The AIR system is supposed to also oxidize the catalytic converter making its processes more efficient.

Disabling EGR can cause a hit in gas mileage - but with an LS1 its probably not a big difference. If your modded usually its not a concern

Yes, with the fuse pulled the PCM won't see the signal its looking for. I just live with it lol. That and rear O2 codes/ EGR codes (till I get a tune.) My V6 has all of it tuned out.

Hey I gotta question??? I live in OR and you just have to pass the scan. I plan on getting LT's, but can I remove my EGR/AIR system, and delete the codes + rear O2 sensors, and still pass emissions?

Yes if there isn't a visual. You can get the EGR and AIR removed through a tune.

I've read through everything, but didn't quite understand the answers to my questions below.

I've got a 99 Z28, with a Hot Cam, long tubes, Borla, Pulley, LS6 manifold.

I had it dyno tuned, but the shop is now out of business and I think their tune may have been crap. I have removed my AIR system and EGR as well. I'm running O2 sims in the rear and some Denso O2's up front.

The car stinks. Like, burn your eyes out of your head stink. According to the scanmaster, its always adding fuel. I think the last time I drove it the LT trims were positive 5 and positive 7. Pretty sure that's where they were.

When I bought the exhaust, I thought ahead and got a system, FLP, that had interchangeable cats and straight pipes.

So the question is, if I do nothing but put the cats in, and leave everything else alone, will my stink go away? Or, do I need to run the EGR and AIR if I'm going to run cats?

Secondly, could the stink be eliminated by a better tune, and not put the cats in? The car is so lightly modified, that I'm sure a mail in tune would be just as good as a dyno tune. I did all this stuff back when things were kind of in their infancy regarding these cars and engines.

Now I'm at a point in my life, where being loud and fast are only so important. Getting rid of the stink is more important.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure your front o2's are pretty important. I think they tell the computer if your running rich or lean.

The back o2's don't matter they pretty much tell if the cats are working or not.
